TAO TAO TASI, (PEOPLE OF THE SEA) is very special and personal for me. It is far more than just a show.
Taotao Tasi is the story of the Chamorro people and their incredible journey across the Pacific using nothing but proa sailing canoes, the stars to guide them, and brave hearts.
The culture of Guåhan (Guam) is 4,000 years old. Precious little of this history was recorded, but we do know that the Chamorros were a proud people with the courage to navigate thousands of miles across the Pacific – thousands of years before Hawaii and other islands were inhabited.

within the mind of the Most High,
all things were combined as one.
Infinite and limitless.
Make the girl the first daughter.
Make the man the first son.
Now bring them together and
create all of the people.
From my chest create the sky.
From my back create the land.
From my eyes create the sun and
the moon. And suspend them
above the people of the land.

I Tao Tao Tasi. -
We stand over all of
the old bones. And we praise the
Matao, the first people – who
arrived on the first sailing canoes.
We praise all of our elders. And
we praise all of the old bones. -
Our journey beings on
the island of Guahan (Guam)
and continues to the islands of
Tahiti, Samoa and Hawaii.
But the birth of these Pacific
islands began 4,000 years ago,
with the first children of the
Pacific, the Chamorro people.
Here on Guam. The first great
navigators.
